What I help with
What can hypnotherapy help with?
If part of you keeps doing something the rest of you wishes it wouldn't, hypnotherapy may well help. Here are the areas I work with most, all by video from wherever you are.

Feelings and emotional health
- [Anxiety](/hypnotherapy-for-anxiety/). Constant worry, tension, social nerves and panicky feelings. Anxiety is one of the areas where the research for hypnotherapy is strongest, and starting from the comfort of home makes the first step easier.
- [Stress](/hypnotherapy-for-stress/). When work, family or everything at once leaves you wired, short-tempered or unable to switch off.
- [Low mood and depression](/hypnotherapy-for-depression/). Support to lift your mood, rebuild motivation and change the thinking patterns that keep you stuck, alongside the care of your GP.
- [Confidence](/hypnotherapy-for-confidence/). Self-belief, presentations, interviews, exams, auditions and sporting performance.
Sleep
- [Insomnia and poor sleep](/hypnotherapy-for-insomnia/). Trouble dropping off, waking in the night or a mind that races at bedtime. Evening sessions mean you can go straight from hypnosis to your own bed.
Fears and phobias
- [Phobias](/hypnotherapy-for-phobias/). Flying, needles, spiders, driving, heights, the dentist and more. We work on the fear from a safe distance at home, long before you need to face it.
Habits and health
- [Stopping smoking](/stop-smoking-hypnotherapy/). Cigarettes or vapes, worked on together with your own motivation to quit.
- [Weight and eating](/weight-loss-hypnotherapy-2/). Managing cravings, comfort eating and snacking, and sticking to the healthy eating and exercise plan you've chosen.
- [Habits](/hypnotherapy-for-habits/). Nail biting, procrastination and other patterns that run on autopilot.
Other things people bring
The list above isn't the limit. Clients also come to me for motivation, creativity, career and life changes (I'm also a life and executive coach), letting go of the past, and getting clearer about what they want. Two areas with strong research behind them are worth a mention:
- IBS. Hypnotherapy is included in UK clinical guidelines (NICE and the British Society of Gastroenterology) as an option for people with irritable bowel syndrome, once your GP has made the diagnosis.
- Menopause hot flushes. The Menopause Society (2023) recommends clinical hypnosis as an evidence-based non-hormonal option for hot flushes and night sweats. Talk to your GP about all your options, including HRT.
If what you're facing isn't listed, just ask. At the free consultation I'll tell you honestly whether I think I can help. If you'd like to understand the approach first, read what is hypnotherapy?, and for suitability questions see is it right for me?.
